Scholar of the Year
- Each year the Consortium recognizes one graduate student in Central New York who are working theoretically and practically on advancing peace through the areas of global affairs, studies, advocacy, and diplomacy (such as issues on weapon and human trafficking, war, climate change, and the global economy). We ask professors, peers, and graduate students themselves from any university in Central New York to nominate their students. We ask that you contact your student or peer before nominating them. Please write a 500 to 1000 word statement on the graduate student’s accomplishments, academic work, and academic and political goals. The Scholars position is a one year appointment.
Scholar of the Year
- Each year the Consortium recognizes one graduate student in Central New York who are working theoretically and practically on advancing peace nationally, regionally, and locally (such as the criminal industrial complex, health care, and environmental destruction). We ask professors, peers, and graduate students themselves from any university in Central New York to nominate their students. We ask that you contact your student or peer before nominating them. Please write a 500 to 1000 word statement on the graduate student’s accomplishments, academic work, and academic and political goals. The Scholars position is a one year appointment.
Process and Responsibilities
- The two Scholars that have been awarded will be notified prior to the Annual Peace Studies Conference and recognized at the Annual Peace Studies Conference.
- After being notified of being awarded as a Scholar or Fellow please send us a 220 word biography and picture of yourself, which will be posted with your e-mail to our website.
- Please send reports every six months to update us on your work.
